A Cup of Tea (2024)

A heartfelt short film depicting the challenging aftermath for a Black American family whose son was unjustly murdered by the hands of the police. An inspiring reunification brings hope that love overcomes pain, even in the most dire circumstances.

Directed by Gabriel Noble

Gabriel Noble is a first time filmmaker and North Carolina native who moved to New York City after achieving his family's first college graduation at Elon University in 2014. In fall 2023, his passion for exploring social change stories and the Black American experience awarded him a seat at the Stony Brook's Graduate School for Film and Creative Writing in Manhattan. He seeks to coalesce diverse experiences and bring people together with his love of storytelling.

Starring Lolita Foster

Lolita Foster was born in Farmville, Virginia and attended the University of Virginia with the intention of becoming a writer. After graduation she was accepted as an acting fellow at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. and moved to Manhattan to pursue an acting career in theatrical productions throughout New York.

In 2013, she was cast as the recurring character CO Maxwell on the hit Netflix series Orange Is the New Black (2013), continuing on to play many roles in film before returning to the stage to play Catherine in "Proof" alongside Broadway veteran Count Stovall.

Co-Starring L.A. Williams

L.A. Williams has had extensive experience acting in over twenty-five films in various roles, notably the 2014 critically acclaimed feature Gone Girl to most recently TV movie Spinning out of Control.

Williams continues as a working actor and is cast in upcoming announced productions in both short films and TV movies.

Director of Photography Rikki Porter

Rikki Porter is a Southern California native, who currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. She is an alumna of Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema, where she obtained her MFA in Cinematography. Rikki’s eclectic and outstanding work as a Director of Photography includes several short films, documentaries, and experimental films. In 2019, her work was on display in the short film, Good News. The film was honored at the 57th New York Film Festival and acknowledged at the Maryland Film Festival.

Original Score and Songs by Gus Glasser

Gus Glasser quickly rose to internet stardom in 2023 after a featured guest spot on the Marc Rebillet livestream in Central Park, New York City. Represented by Resonance Music Group, Glasser’s online streams count in the millions, with hit singles “a really damn long day” and “Frog Song” accumulating a combined 3,199,653 streams as of May 13, 2024.

Glasser’s eclectic mix of keyboard funk and jazz sets him apart from fusion genre mainstays. His minimalist classical keyboard original soundtrack, complemented with original song “Stuck On My Days” and a film premiere original “Searching For Some Way (To Make It Right)” debuts in the credit sequence for A Cup of Tea.
